If the sun turned off now

Performative installation

The printing station consists of 174 MDF wooden boards with a coherent text on, phthalo blue acrylic paint, retarder, rubber rollers, press, felt, paper and nails.

Anne Zychalak Stolten and Olga Benedicte have been working since 2018 on what they call 'work performances', where they stage a printing workshop that unfolds during a long-term performance. ( click here to see previous performance ) On the opening day, the 18th of June 2021, they performed for 7.5 hours unfolding the work If the sun turned off now , which functions as an open print workshop where the viewer can move freely between them during the performance.

The performance is the second part of a series of work performances, in which they examine the body as a kind of repetitive machine and the meditative approach of the traditional printing method. At the same time, they dive into the symbiosis that arises during a collaboration.

After the performance the left tools and materials will be exhibited and open for the public.

In November 2021, the printing plates will be reused as molds during the next part of the series at Enter Artspace Aarhus.
